Super Major radiator bubbling

The cooling water system on my early Super Major (still has pneumatic gov) produces a lot of gas when the tractor is running- noticeable amounts of bubbling out the radiator filler neck. The radiator has been filled for months but no water has gotten into the engine oil. It seems to start OK and if any water gets inside the cylinder, it is minimal. Is it head gasket, liners, or something else and how do you tell?

Bubbling in the radiator is usually head gasket leaking. The water will blow out of the overflow pipe.

You may also find oil in the water.

If you are just getting water out of the filler just after you have filled it to the top, this is normal. The correct level is about 1" below the filler.

My Major is also blowing water out of the overflow. There is lots of oil in the radiator. Is it more likely a head gasket or a hole in a cylinder liner (sleeve)?
