Okay, I have seen Fordson Majors with Silver, Orange, and new to me, but as of the latest Majorman's post a Blue grill!!! What color is it supposed to be???

In Stuart Gibbard's book, most of the Major's grills were silver coming off of the line, but I am asking the experts what color is the grill on a Fordson Power Major??

Thanks

Thanks for the info on grill colours Majorman. I have read in the experts books and they tell us that all Power Majors had silver grills. You rightly said that they also had blue grills. A new PowerMajor came into our village in 1958 and i allways thought it had blue grills and you have told me right. Many thanks MJ

The grill colour should be either blue or silver. Fordson Majors originally were blue. If it is a wire mash grill (like mine) it should be blue.

They changed to silver with the Power Major/Super Major. Ther was no real change date, some Power Majors had blue grills.

All replacement grills were silver from the factory.

The problem comes from Ford Sales handouts. These used artist impressions not photographs and the tractors shown were painted all sorts of colours to make them stand out. They were not the colours the tractors left the factory.
