2 Questions on 1962 FSM, maybe Majorman knows the answers. First, #1 on my Simms injector pump does not pump, with the cover removed I can see the little piston going up and down as it should, but yet no fuel comes out of the injector pump, I crack the line at both ends and .. nothing. Second. When I engage the Live PTO, the little hydrualic unit that sits underneath the driver seat just spews hyd. oil out the right side and just totally coats my right fender with oil. It comes out of a little peep hole on the unit beneath me. What causes this? Thanks in advance.

No.1 .. Try pulling the stop lever back and then grasp the little button in the centre of the piviot with a pair of plieres and pull this out, Sometimes this little button sticks and this will cause your problem. Also try moving the rack, below the pump pistons with a screwdriver, this may be stuck. If all this fails you will need a pump specialist. I hope you have kept things very clean with the side plate off, the slightest particle of dust or dirt in here can totally wreck the pump. I am also assuming that you have checked the filter in the fuel tap, the fuel filter and have a good flow of fuel down to the pump.

No.2 .. This oil is coming from the main pressure line from the pump to the lift. You have a blown "O" ring. You will need to remove the plug and replace the ring.

Hope this helps, if not get back to me.

Well majorman, I took my injector pump apart and found some gunk in the #1 piston and bore that caused it to stick and freeze up the fuel rail. I submersed my entire pump in 5 gal. of fresh kerosene, and reassembled it in another tub of more fresh kerosene, thus keeping dust out of it. Re-installed the Inj pump and presto, my FSM runs PERFECT. The exhaust is almost as clear as regular air. Also it runs so smoothly now and has so much more power. I took apart my aux. valve chest and replaced ALL the O rings, but still no movment in the 3pt arms. Maybe I need to flush all of it and put new oil. Thanks For the info Majorman!!
