My 3pt lift will not do a thing! I engage the PTO, let the clutch out, Move the quadrant, select both Qualitrol and position control,...nothing.
I took the lid off today, replaced stack pipe o rings, the o rings between the lift cylinder and valve chest, valve chest o rings. ALL the orings.
It gets flow, but no pressure, the lift cylinder looked fine, no scored walls or anything. My fluid is all milky. Will water in the oil completley shut down your hydraulics and bring it to a dead stop? I find that hard to believe, but maybe... What do I do?

In your first post you said oil was coming from the aux.valve chest and that you replaced all the "O" rings. Did you take all the plugs out and the "O" rings in this unit as well as the ones between it and the top cover? Just wondering if the oil leak has stopped.

Did you check the movement of the control valve and the unload valve whilst you had the lift off? Both these can stick if you have water in the oil.

Well, I got the leak to stop on the aux chest with new o rings and all. But Which are the control and unload valves? I did notice that the lift cylinder has a "trumpet" shaped thing on it that the quadrant seems to insert into, this little valve or whatever didnt seem to move. But I dont know if it is supposed to or not. Ill try all the valves again to see if I skipped one, either in the aux chest or in the lid, or cylinder. Everything under the lid seemed to be in decent shape, I made sure to catch those little "half moon" pieces that go onto the pressure pipe. The lid was heavy, but not too bad, I was able to dead lift it and tilt it onto it side pretty easy. Ill try again.... Thanks

It does not have a drop restrictor valve. It is a standard tractor I believe. Last time I looked up the serial # it was a 1962 FSM. The serial number, if I can remember, is
08B 744947A..... something like that. The only thing it has for hydraulics is the flow control knob for fast or slow on top of the valve chest, and an auxillary push-pull knob to run a remote. Thats it. I really appreciate your help Majorman. I think I will eventually beat this thing with your help, as my 10 acre lawn is getting tall with grass, and I need my Major Hyd. working. I drove it slowly down the road for the first time yesterday, I just had the crank turned down .020 and put in all new bearings. I bought it "non" running 2 months ago for $1000. Spun rod bearings and all. Now she purrs like a kitten, well... a loud one anyways...haha. Infact, some local farmer was driving by on his JD and did a double take on me and stared in awe. I mentally thought "I know you wish you had this FSM , but its MINE!! " haha! Thanks again

If the "trumpet shaped bit" did not move, this is the control valve and needs to move for the lift to work. The unload valve is directly above this (below if the lift is on its back).

You will need to draw the plug out of the end and then LIGHTLY tap the valve out. Clean up both this and the control valve with metal polish NOT abrasive material or you will wreck them. These are precision items and the lift will not work if either is scored or damaged in any way.

Thats why I say draw the plug out of the unload valve and not drive it out using the valve as a punch.

You will also have to say what type of Super you have for us to give you the correct sequense to reset the lift. We need to know if it is a "New Performance" or standard tractor. Post the serial number from under No.1 injector or a couple of date codes. Have you got a drop restrictor valve with a metal knob on the front of the lift near the high/low lever?

Try removing the flow control and plate under the front of the seat and make sure the spools are loose inside, one make be stuck open.
