Can anyone tell me why my PTO engages by grinding teeth? I have "Live PTO" and even with the lever by my foot engaged and the clutch FULLY depressed, the rear PTO lever wont engage without BAD grinding of gears, I have the double clutch but like I said , I depress it all the way down... and it wont disengage the PTO. Any clues will help, Thanks

Check the clutch free play, should be only just 1/2".

Also check the clutch pedal itself. It works in a frame under the footplate and there could be a pin or bolt across the frome that prevents the clutch from going right into the PTO clutch. This is used when not using PTO implements to stop wear on the PTO part of the clutch.

Glad your lift works OK. It will drop over time but this is normal. It is not designed to hold implements up overnight (say).

Well, I took a look at it today and the pin that stops the pedal from going all the way down is gone, so it can travel at full length. The pedal has onlt 1/2 inch of play, yet it wont disengage the PTO. Maybe I need to do some serious linkage or clutch adjustments. I dont know...

Sounds like your internal clutch operating forks are worn/out of adjustment/set up wrong. Try reducing the free play to nil and see what happens.

I set it up to nil freeplay and it works now, If you mash it all the way down, it will disengage the pto as well finally. Pice by piece I am getting this FSM working in tip top shape. Today I used my FSM to tow 2 old riding lawn mowers to my junk pile. Niether of them had wheels on them. So I just drug them like little ploughs...haha to the junk pile. I couldnt even tell I was towing anything, man these things have power!!
