Hi
My (E1ADDN) Fordson Major Diesel has the air intake under the bonnet whereas most others I have seen have the intake pipe coming through the bonnet. Why is this?
I need to get some manuals for the tractor but as there is quite a few out there, which ones do I really need? I want to replace some gaskets as well as service it, also I would also like to know exactly how the tractor works. Thanks
Dommo

Air cleanerunder the bonnet indicates a tractor built before 1954. Post the Serial number from the flange behind the starter and we can give you the exact month and year. Post the casting codes stamped in to all parts and we can tell you the day of production.

I would only buy original Ford produced manuals. These will tell you exactly what you need to know. They can be found second hand on E-Bay. Other manuals are good for general information. The manuals will also tell you everything about the workings of your tractor.

Also try Link for lots of information.
