Considering a re-engine on my SMD, Hoping someone has Crank centerline to Trans alingment pin dimensions so I can fabricate an adapter plate.
Any help would be appreciated.

Some people put 6 cyl New Holland combine engines into them. Same bellhousing pattern. Lots of posts on this subject from a year or two back.

The only conversion I know of which was a proper conversion pack prodouced by F.Perkins was to put the Perkins L4TA diesel in to a petrol or petrol/v.o. engined Major, not a diesel Major

Thanks Richard, maybe that will produce some usable dimensions. Around here USA, rebuildable fmd's, pmd's, and smd's are hard to find. Figured a re-engineing was worth looking into. JB.

Has anyone looked into cutting an unusable or busted New Major engine block (that part of engine block area behind the last cylinder that bolts to the transmission) that is behind the #4 hole, milling it flat and true, then drilling it to fit another type block? Of course there is flywheel considerations and spacing to check too.
