The E1ADN Major with the petrol engine ran from 1951 to 1957 but was not sold in great numbers after the introduction of the diesel version.

Ther was also a petrol/paraffin (kerosene) version.

In total ther were only 25115 units built and many of these were converted to either Perkins L4 diesels or had the Fordson diesel fitted.

The petrol and petrol/paraffin versions are getting to be rare beasts. From 1952 to 1998 I had only ever seen 2 and I worked for a Ford main dealer and even now I can only think of about 15 here in England.

I thought your reply was interesting. My questions is, how hard is it to get L-4 Perkins parts or do you have a contact that would know?

Think they are still available from a Perkins dealer. Would think injection pump parts are a bit difficult but most engine parts should be OK. You can still get parts for the "P" series, an earlier engine.

I am looking for a source for the L-4 and the later 270 parts. Thanks for your reply. J.
