I am trying to replace the rear countershaft bearing on my fathers E27n P6, but as yet can not find a replacemnt bearing. I understand that the bearing number F1564A is probably obsolete so i was wondering if anybody knows of a substitute that will fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Brett

I don't know much about new bearings for the Fordsons. I am not sure of the model you specifide either but if Fordson House can't help you I do have an old parts tractor. The shifter mechanism was removed years ago but the rear half of the tractor appears intact yet. It is located in Union, Michigan. It is about a 1923. I don't want anything for the tractor. It is only good for things like transmission/ rear end parts, maybe the crank, rods, camshaft. Not much else....

Bill,
thanks kindly for your offer but the E27N tractors were built between 1945 and 1952. They were basically an "N" model engine and transmission with a crown wheel and pinion diff and longer kinpins on the front. So parts from your tractor wont fit into this and i would preferably like to get a brand new bearing rather than a second hand one. Once again thanks for your time and generous offer,
regards,
Brett

Hi Brett,

If you have the bearing out I would simply take it to the nearest bearing shop and get them to measure it. I had to replace the spigot bearing on my P6 last month and it was no trouble to get a replacement over the counter.

Regards, Frank.
