My father has several fordsons Power Majors and one Super Major. He also has one fordson with a front end loader. He has several rearends, transmissions, engine blocks, pistons, heads, injectors, clutches, crankshafts, flywheels, etc. He was wanting to know if $10,500 is a good starting price for this collection.
Thanks for the input.

I would have to agree with cdmn, If it was my collection I would sell them one at a time. Get the runners out and sell one by one in the local papers and such.

You can't expect us to answer that question sight unseen. How many are several? What condition? What location?. A starting price would be approximately 5 cents a pound. Then add say $500 for each complete tractor. Add $100 each for really good rear tires. The loose parts will be hard to sell. If you are talking about 5 complete, but shabby tractors and 5 torn down, then $5,000.00 would be reasonable. Of course, good runners with nice paint and tires will be about $1,000 more each. Now your $10,000 sounds okay, but who, except a salvage operator, will buy such a large package? And he'll probably stick to the $5,000 mark, for 10 junk tractors in one place. He'll sell enough iron to pay his initial outlay, including trucking and manpower expense and then wait for parts buyers.
If you're in an area heavily populated by Fordson restorers, an auction might be the way to go. I have no way of knowing for sure, but I'd guess there are less than 100 Fordson Major restorers with active projects at this time. The salvage buyer in this area ships some of the older models back to England.
