Looking to buy a Fordson Dexta gasoline model locally, but concerned about parts availability especially because the GAS model is supposedly rare. Is there interchangeability with the U.S. Ford models of the same era? Or is this engine the same as a Massy model, etc.? PLEASE HELP!

I've also got a Dexta Petrol. It had a busted timing chain which mangled up the housing. Started with a flyweight coming off the governor.
If I had just gotten one, the first thing I'd do is open it up and check the governor. All those parts cost plenty. Replace that governor before it's too late.
Anyway, I was able to buy both new and used parts, some from the local AGCO Massey dealer. They are the same as a MF35(Europe) tractor. Perhaps, the starter is mounted on opposite sides.
The other main differences are in the dashboard, the battery mount, the length of the hood, and the front mount for the axle. The steering rods and radius rods are also lengthened. Theoretically the battery is supposed to mount on the running board behind your clutch foot. Mine was moved up in front of the gas tank. Some apparently came with a seperate gas tank in that location to give it a longer running time, but mine is long gone.

I did find out that the current owner bought it from a local dealer.I called the salesmen and he said the only issue with parts is the tractors age.As it gets older they will be harder to come by. He never mentioned that the tractor was rare,I can't find soild production numbers it seems no one knows for sure.

The Fordson Dexta had it's own engine. It is not the same as any thing else. The gasser is extremely rare, especially in North America. This one belongs in a collection, parts are just too rare to try to use it.

That's MY opinion anyway.

I think any gas fordson is the U.S. is pretty rare. Now if you find a TVO ( kersosene ) model in the U.S. please let me be the first to know. Because those are even rarer and I personally have never heard of one in the U.S.
