I am preparing my Super Dexta to paint when it gets warmer. I stripped the hood today and found a decal that had been sprayed over that read Ford Diesel 2000. I thought I needed super dexta decals, but this has Ford. Where can I find these decals? All photos of dexta I have seen have a purple color, but this seems to have been Ford Blue? I guess the Ford Blue I am intending to use is correct for this import tractor. Was the screens in the grill painted gray? Thanks

The decals can be found at your New holland dealer or many after market sources. The decal is the same as the Am made 63-64 2000,144 CI, 4 cyl Ford diesel. All Ford blue [M1J1639SE] except the grills, fenders and wheels, which were grey gloss [M20J1750SE].Some folks prefered a darker gray like their Am cousins [M1J957SE].

I don't know too much about Dextas, but I learned a little bit about them when I was looking for information about my Majors. The last Super Dextas became the first Ford 2000s. Yours may have been a Dexta that was repainted to look like a 2000. If its a Dexta, it should be painted Empire Blue. If its a 2000, you can probably get the right paint at your Case New Holland dealer. You might try looking up your serial number on the serial number page on this site to see if its a Dexta or a 2000.

I am confused now, I thought the first 2000s were badged as a Dexta, the 3000 was the Super Dexta? I know the 4000 was the Major and the 5000 was badged as a Super Major in the new range in about 64 or 65.

Guys,
from July 1962, all Fordson Super Dexta exported to USA were badged as Ford Diesel 2000. For all other export countrys, they were sold as Fordson Super Dexta. The prodution of Fordson tractors were stopped with the introduction of the new worldwide range of Ford tractors.
