While I haven't seen the inside of a FMD, there are only a few things that can be wrong. The most common one hasn't been mentioned. The pickup tube or the screen head may be cracked. Some times, the tubes may even rub on something and wear a hole.

It does no take much of a hole to allow the machine to suck air instead of oil.

The tube looked good, it has a bolt holding it to the middle of the center cap, so it can't move arround or rub on anything. If I take the pan off again, I'll give it a much closer examination, but I did not see anything wrong when I swapped the pump.

I think you need to blow out your oil pressure line that's been suggested. Did you prime the new pump before installing it? Hal

I did not prime the pump, I was told that the new oil pump would self prime. I don't believe that is the problem, but I think you might be right about blowing out the lines. Not sure what the best way to do that is. I don't want to blow out any gaskets or hurt anything when doing it.

I would remove the oil pressure line from the engine and blow it out. Are you getting plenty of oil to the rocker arms? It's a good idea to prime a pump a pump before installing on the engine. Hal

Sir
Sounds like you may have the line plugged up with gunk. If you replaced the pump and still no pressure check the oil line to the gage and the gage itself. Those are positive displacement pumps and if they turn and if they have oil at the sump, they will pump. I'll assume you checked, cleaned and installed all correctly?

You may be right, I am going to remove the filter and filter assembly next and see if there is any gunk arround or causing blockage. After that, I'm running out of options, and a rebuild is probably in order.

Lets put it this way, the guage reads 0. So I took the guage off, left the port completely open, and turned her over. Nothing comes out.
