SUper major backfire

I discovered I had a plugged fuel filter the hard way, I ran the engine out of fuel. I have since changed the filter, bled a bunch of fuel out of the tractor, and actually got it to run, but it is not running well, and will not keep running, plus it backfires a lot.

Is it possible that I just need to keep bleeding it? I did notice that there is a small air bubble in the glass dome over the pre-filter. Or, is it possible that I somehow affected the timing of the tractor? If so, where do I go from here.

I am not a mechanic by any means, although I can get through the basics.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

David J. Newland

it may be the coupler in front of the injector pump got loose and the timing got out of whack

The air bubble is not the problem. Could be timing, but if it was set before than it should still be set. Check your air intake. May be plugged.
