Had a new clutch installed in my Super about 3yrs ago. If I remember right it was around $700 and was rebuilt at a truck repair shop. First clutch in 41yrs of loader work, no idea of how many hrs.(clock quit 30yrs ago, tach still works).

what happened is Re: Super dextra clutch in reply to Charles Abel, 07-05-2007 11:20:39
What happened is the center broke out! I take it that it doesn't move right? Happened to my Dexta. If this is a duplex clutch if you cant do it yourself expect to pay plenty to get the clutch rebuilt!

woodache you had it right! My friend and I broke the thing in half and got very lucky putting it back. It went with not much trouble. Now I would like to build the motor. Do the sleeves have to be pressed in or do they tap in? I seem to remember some in shop in high-school (60+ years ago) that taped in. Thanks Old Charlie

I put it in neutral and in gauged the PTO, then pushed in the clutch and the PTO stopped. I then started the engine in gear and drove it back to the house. I even dropped the box blade and made a pass on the drive way on the way home. But you can not in gauge the clutch and shift gears. ???? Charlie

Rivets came out of the lining or the old lining buckled and folded because of being to thin and the debre is jamming the release

Charles, you may have broken your forks that engages the clutch when you shift gears, being that it will pull after you start her in gear. Does your clutch pedal have spring to it? One things for sure, you will defiantly have to break her in half and have a look see. Let us know how you come along with your Dexta.

Capp
