I don't know anything about tractors, but my uncle who's in his 80's and blind from diabetes is determined to get his 1927 Fordson running.

He said he's looking for a high tension magneto which is driven off the back of the governor. It sits on a plate with 4 bolts.

He say's the tractor was the last one made in the U.S. and looks like the older 1917 model.

I'm not sure if any of this makes sence, but if anyone has any suggestions on where to get parts (if they are still available), or if there's another way to fix the problem, I would greatly appreciate it.

Sounds like it has a later Model N engine installed. This was provided for service replacements in the 30's thru 50's. You are probably talking about a Bosche magneto such as used on the Model N. It was German Bosch until some time in the 30's when they used American Bosch over here.
After 1927, Fordson tractors were made overseas and looked a lot like the 1917 until 1952. The postwar tractors used a Lucas magneto. Considering that a half million of these tractors were built, there should be some extra magnetos around.
