Back in late June, early July, I posted this subject asking for help in solving the problem of power loss and finally dying. My problem was well received and there were a lot of excellent suggestions. My Dad replaced the little primer pump (the one just before the injector pump), replaced the diesel fuel filter element, cleaned the air breather filler and housing. Some of you suggested that we replace the fuel shutoff tap (valve) underneath the tank. The old valve outlet was chewed up where the fuel line seats inside of it. Attempts were made to seal it with teflon tape, but it looks like it could very well be the culprit. Dad has ordered, received and returned two after market valves, as they were both defective. With the valves open, you couldn"t blow air through them.
Does anyone have one of these valves that you would be willing to part with, or do you know where I might be able to get one? I believe that the original part number is 957E9189C. I would appreciate any help that you can give me. Many thanks.

That's good news. We have one in town. I'll check them out and see what else they might have that we need. For now, I think we've got the valve problem licked. Thanks for the heads up.
