I am ashamed to say that I didn"t get the message in time. I didn"t wait to get the message about the fuel leaking down into the crank case through the direct line to the primer. It took a wahile to get it started but it did start. with the fuel in the crank case. I warmed it up and everything seemed ok. After I got the message I drained everything and prayed that all was ok. But not so. I have refilled everything over the weekend with corrected amount of oil, got rid of the primer, and refilled with water the radiator. Started it up and it doesn"t sound so good. Who might know how much damage I may have done? Walt

Walt, (in my opinion) the first thing I would do is to take an oil pressure reading with the motor hot and idling. Then check it at increased
throttle. Personally, I would say about 15 lbs would be the lowest presure I would use the tractor at. Check with a good diesel mechanic. He should be able to give you a beter idea about the pressures. Im using 40wt oil in mine and it holds about 45 lbs at hot idle.(Im in south ALA.so it never gets too cold here.) Hope this helps.

The new gage I just installed is showing 50 pounds PSI. That I think is good presure. I may not have done any damage. Still don"t know why it stalled. It may have another problem. Thouh it didn"t get above the thermostat temp of 160 degrees I still heard boiling in the raditor. I also had to reseal the gasket by the injector pump for some reason fluid was coming out there. It looked like a mixture of dissel and water. at leaset I was smart enough to to put antifreeze in yet. So good oil presure but maybe a bad seal on the head gasket. That may also be why it stalled. Thanks for the advice Walt

I HAVEN'T FOLLOWED YOUR POST OTHER THAN YOU'ER last, but I've had my crank case fill up with diesel numerous times over the years because of bad gasket on fuel pump. Just relaced the gasket/diaphram, drain oil and went on my way. I've brush hogged all day with crank case full of diesel and didn't know it. Never hurt my tractor. If you'er hearing noises they were proberly there to begin with.
