Hi, I hope some one can help me. I have a once very reliable Fordson New Performance Super Major that having stood for 6 weeks failed to start. Folling a couple of weekends of checking, rebleeding the fuel system and re checking I concluded that the problem was with the Simms Minimec Injector pump. Again following some investigation I have discovered that the stop rack is no longer connected to the stop linkages, as I can take the inspection plate off move the rack and she starts no problem but only runs for seconds before the rack shakes back stopping the engine. What would be great is some advice on how the rack is linked to the stop mechanism and guidence on how to access this area disturbing as little as possible. Drawings or diagrams would be an even bigger help. Thank you in advance for any help. David

The good book says"overhaul should not be attempted unless in a fully equipped injection workshop" frankly I wouldn't fiddle with them seeing they are vital to good engine function.

David,

I would pose the question over at the link below. Me personally I would take it to a shop but I guess that is after learning my lesson a few times when I took something apart and could not get it back together.
