Dexta Hydraulic issues

I have an intermittent problem with my auxiluary hydraulic not functioning. Messing with the rear hydraulics usually gets it going, but not always.

I changed the transmission oil which was really bad, but even after filling, the hole back toward the differential doesn't overflow. I thought, based on the manual, that the two shared the same oil supply.

Any thoughts?

Dave M.

The transmission and the differential/hydraulics are basically two different systems with two different reservoirs. The fill level plug for the differential/hydraulics is on the left side by the by the PTO lever. I beleive it is a 5/16 plug. The fill level plug for the transmission is the same size plug and is located on the right side of the transmission basically in line with fill plug. It sounds like you might have overfilled the differential/hydraulics reservoir and that the transmission is still empty. Good luck.

I have a Dexta book. It calls for separate oil for the 2 parts. You need to use hydrulic gear comb.oil in the rear differential it is the reservoir for the hydrulic system. It is best to use the same oil in each case for if the seal between the tran and differential is bad you will be mixing oils.
