Restoration project. This is a 1960 Fordson Power Major Diesel. I just ordered a pile of stuff to get her looking like new. Has live PTO and Power Steering.

I have recived some parts from Link And some stuff I have gotten fome right here on this Yesterdays Tractor site under "parts". It seems that no single place has it all and different parts that could not be ordered from one place, had to be ordered from another. The gages did indeed come from Agriline in england. Dandy Dave!

I guess that I am lucky as the engine starts and runs very well and it has never been cracked. I have my own machine shop so getting the holes tight won't be a problem. I did get a trans filler plug from a fellow a while ago that had quite a few of these. That, so far, has been the hardest part to find. I am glad to see that there is a lot of reproduction parts being made in england for these now. I did the brakes last year and now I am down to cleaning, paint, and the electrical stuff.
I Will post more photos as I go. :D Dave!

Very good tractor to start a restoration with. I have seven of these in process, NONE of them nearly as good as this one appears to start with. They are a good running tractor, good power, good pulling ability, decent on fuel. Not as popular as others however, unless you find someone who recognizes them or quality in general. It is getting difficult to find some parts. England has better selection of parts, if you are persistent, you will find most parts. Previous post mentioned the drawbar top pins, that was a correct statement, a local machine shop should be able to bore and sleeve to get the holes tight again. I have done a couple here. Engine blocks for the 220 cu. in. diesel are getting scarce. Most available have been cracked from freezing or thrust bearing journals worn out of block. We are able to correct the latter in the machine shop with great success. but cannot fix a cracked block. Injector pumps pretty dear also. You are fortunate the fenders and sheet metal really looks good. Good luck with it, hope you post the end result. John

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I do have the original Lucas Headlights for it and they are in good restorable condition. Even the glass is intact. Dave!

Here's the other side. The tractor runs very good and I just recently took the steering assist cylinder off and took it apart because it did not work right. The sleeves that actuate the valve spool were rusted and it was a bit of a bugger to get apart. I got the O-rings and a new seal from a local cyinder rebuilding place and it works like a dream now.

Is this the common PTO that is on these? I noticed that the lever by the clutch peddel and the lever in the back both need to be in gear for it to work. I put new clutches ( It is a duel unit) in it about 10 years ago for a friend but he never used it much because of electrical issues. The tractor belonged to my father in-law at one time and was bought new by his family.

. Appears you have a high rise PTO which can be disengaged by the lever at the back, gives a few less revolutions than the low.The PTO coming from the tractor is about 6" lower.
I think the BLUE is trying to get out.
The platform where the drawbar slides have elongated holes up forward where the pins are located.common happening.

Yeah, I plan on getting it back to Blue and Orange again. Actually my wife is my ex but my childern live with me. Their grandfather does stop to see them from time to time. I think he will be supprised to see the tractor the next time he comes around. I plan on bush hoging about 6 acres several times a year with it to keep things working. it is hard for me to belive that this tractor is almost 50 years old and has everything that the new ones have. Cool, Dave!

Well Dave , I know all about a wife leaving a man . Mine left about 3 months after our 33rd anniversary for another guy .In order for me to keep my home & collections , I ahd to take on all debts with her being debt free . I had to buy my home again to do it . I didn't take it well & went into severe depression which had eventually caused my being disabled now. I hope all goes well with you & the children . Mine didn't . Good luck with the tractor restoration . God bless, Ken

Ken, Mine has been gone for about 8 plus years now. I have had the childern since they were 3 and 5 and now they are 11 and 14. The youngest will be 12 in May. I must say, things have been better without her and seem to be a little better every year. It was hard at first but now I don't even think about her unless someone brings it up. Sorry to hear that you have had such a hard time. For the record, both of my boys are in wheel chairs. They suffer from Brittle Bone Disease. (O.I.) Dave!

I just wish my family could get back to the loving family we was before this all happened . But my 2 girls only hear Mothers side of it . I've learned alot of new excuses she gave them that I knew nothing about beforehand . But God is good & He still has His hands on my life . I just take a day at a time . God bless you . Ken
