It may be in the archives, but how does the injection pump and fuel control work on the Majors? The place where my dad worked had one when I was a kid and as I remember there was no direct linkage between the throttle and injection pump. I am thinking there was some kind of vacuum or air diaphram there.
It is still sitting there in the weeds somewhere so I am going to look at it first chance I get, it has a front end loader on it though so it may be hard to see in there.
I have been reading this site for years but this is my first post in the new format.
Thanks,Garry F.

I recently purchased I&T manual FO-201. It has a lot of information about these pumps and govenors. A must if you own one of these tractors. Dave!

There's a high-speed adjustment on the butterfly in the intake manifold, but I don't think that's your problem. You probably have a hole in the governor diaphram.

Hi Garry
You're right, there's no mechanical linkage, except on the Super Major with the Minimec injection pump. All the rest had a butterfly in the intake manifold that was controlled by the throttle lever, and two vacuum lines running from there to a diaphram on the injection pump. The diaphram is connected to the rack in the pump. When the butterfly is in the idle position, vacuum pulls the rack toward the no-fuel position. As the butterfly is opened, there is less vacuum and the rack is allowed to move toward the full-fuel position.
