Well I have another question!
What is draft control?
Also my 64 Dexta has a double clutch but is it a wet clutch?
Every time I start the tractor it spits Hyd. oil from the inspection hole at the flywheel.
Seems like their should a gasket at the ispect. hole if clutch is wet but tractor pulls great!

That could be engine oil. The rear engine oil seals I found are notorious for leaking. I have a 1962 Dexta, not the Super, and it leaks. Some day I will have to split the tractor, and replace it. Hope this helps. The draft control, is to help pull the plow in, if it goes up on its own, when you pull the lever up, and when you push it down, it lifts the plow up a little if it sucks in too deep. Great little tractor. Around 38 to 40 Horse Power.

David,

May stand corrected on this but... 'draft control' is for using something like a 3 point hitch plow.
When plowing and the rear wheels start to slip, the back end of the tractor will settle down a bit which puts some pressure on the top link of the 3-point hitch.

This activates a hydraulic valve inside the rear housing that lifts the rear arms and the implement up out of the ground a bit so there is less load to pull.
After it's through the tough spot the arms and implement will return to their original postion.

Cheers,

Les

Clutches are Re: Horsepower in reply to David allen, 03-28-2008 19:21:30

Clutches are dry running! You have a seal leaking oil somewhere. There should be a small hole in the bottom of the bell housing for any oil to drip out. This much oil in the clutches will ruin them. If you are talking about the covered hole on the left side of the flywheel housing this is the engine timing alignment hole. No oil should come from there with NO gasket,
