I wanted to ask anyone, were the square ended fenders on an F early and the tapered end ones late, or vise versa???

I think the tapered ones were on the later models. I was at an auction and there was a 1925 and 1927 in the auction . The 1927 had tapered fenders and the 1925 the square fenders.

That is correct. Fordson started adding fenders with the square toolboxes in 1923. The tapered fenders came in 1926 and were also used on the Irish tractors 1929-32. You will notice that the tractors prior to 1923 did not have mounting holes in the dash casting.
