When I got my latest fordson (1960 super major) I was happy to see it came with rear wheel weights since I am going to mount a front end loader on it. Here's my question--the weights are mounted on the inside of the wheel. Is that where they really belong?

Thanks to anyone replying.

John: If you have a complete set of weights there should be two tapered disc weights, one for each side that are fitted into the inside center of the wheel, the other weights, more flat shape may be fitted then against that weight. There were originally eight weights, four for each side. Three flat and one tapered. I believe the weights were all originally designed to be on the inside of the wheel. However, you will see many with the flat weights mounted on the outside of the wheel center because of easier access.

It depends on which way the wheel disc is turned on the axle. I think the weights will only fit on one side of the wheel. So either way is correct, depending on which side of the wheel is facing out.
