Embarassing, but I can't find the dipstick...

I have just spent longer than I care to admit playing "hunt the dipstick" with my legendary FPM (actually it's now officially half mine!).

OK, I found the engine one with no difficulty, and then found another close to the clutch pedal. I presume that's for the gearbox? If so, where is the dipstick for the back axle? Alternatively, if this is the one for the back axle, where is the dipstick for the gearbox? Is it so that there is no gearbox dipstick then? I'm really confused as it definately looks like the one I found is for the gearbox, as it is located in front of where the gearbox and back axle bolt together.

I have just received my I&T manual for the tractor, which is great reading but was obviously intended for those with the ability to find things like dipsticks unaided.

Oh and no, this isn't an April 1st joke, I really can't find it!!

The dipstick you found by the clutch pedal is indeed for the differential/hydraulic fluid level. The transmission gearbox does not have a dipstick. Just ahead of your differential dipstick, just behind the PTO lever on the left side of the case you will find a large cast plug with a hex head. Loosen and remove this cap and this is where you fill and check the fluid level.
There will be two arrows cast into the transmission casting immediately below the cap. The top arrow is FULL, and the lower arrow is LOW.
