Now that I know thanks to many of you that I have a 53...Forson New Major made in England...E1ADN...Ser# 1250704...Gas and now that I have both a parts book and service manual, I'm confused as to which exhaust manifold to purchase. The book shows three different ones. I know now their is diesel, kerosene/petrol and gas engines. I have gas/petrol but it still shows three different manifold numbers for gas. I can not get to the tractor before I order the manifold, is it possible to get the right manifold before I get to the tractor? The suppliers are not always sure if the manifolds are different. How do I know which one to get shipped.
Thanks!
Les

Les,
If you have the parts book it will tell you which one to use by date. Normally it says "before engine number ..... .". The earlier manifolds had staggered ports rather than inline and you would want an early one.
Hope this helps.
Brian
