Super Dexta axle seals

I think the axle seals on my Super Dexta have failed.Both backing plates are all crusted over and the brakes work very poorly despite having plenty of pedal.How big a job will it be to replace them? Does this thing have drum brakes like my 601 Ford or what? Also, could someone post the part numbers for oil filters and fuel filters? Thanks

Yessir it's a regular drum auto type brake system.
When you take off the wheel and brake drum you'll see the axle bearing retainer bolts. Take the retainer bolts out and remove the axle to replace the seal.

If you don't have to replace the brake shoes it is good to mark each shoe because of the wear they match the drum better if put them back in their original spot. Since you have plenty of pedal, it might be that the anchor pins are worn down or need adjusted. If they're out of adjustment the shoes won't contact the drum enough to have brakes.
