Good day all
Those who use this Discussion Board frequently may remember I recently brought a “New Performance Super Major” that was in need of a bit of tender loving care. Well it still is in need of that care…….. After replacing the water pump, radiator, muffler, seat, Radiator support panel, starter motor, all of the tires (bloody expensive) all of the rubber hoses, lights front and rear, generator, front wheel bearings and seals, etc, etc, etc, get the picture. I am wondering whether I should have just brought a good runner…. The truth is, I’m having a ball getting this non-runner working again and one day soon she’ll be working for her living. Anyway enough of the prattle and to the question at hand, (1) A new battery and rebuilt starter motor, but no go, traced the problem to the starter solenoid (very corroded) so its looks like a new solenoid, I assume it is a generic Lucas item. Q. dose anyone have a Lucas part number for one???? is it found on other English cars/trucks etc. And while I’m at it the Control box looks a bit tired, so a part number for that as well would be great.
For those who are interested, I will post some photos of the resurrection as they come to hand.

The Autolite/Motorcraft type soleniod off an XA/XB 351 V8 Falcon should work if you have trouble getting the lucas item. Cars with a Bosch starter are not equiped with this part, it has to be a car that had the Autolite starter.

Parts are still available from Lucas. I use SRB 321 or SRB 319.

Rod, Idont know whether Lucas still make the parts you require, but they are easily available from other after market suppliers in the U.K. E-Mail me if you have problems obtaining what you want. Regards Pete.
