I was sitting here and it finally snapped on me about you saying it made a noise sounded like maybe up in the clutch area.

What was the noise the spline adapter at the front end of the pto shaft??? Sometimes they will crack apart or strip. I saw one once that slipped too far back on the pto shaft and quit spinning the shaft. In all these cases they made a crunchy noise and then no PTO.

That was it!... or very close!!!!
I just posted to the original message. What I found was that 10 out of 12 bolts that hold the adapter plate to the engine had disappeared/broken. The misalignment of engine transmission broke the hub out of the friction plate. The tractor was held together by the loader frame. This will be a regular check from now on.
Thanks
