Super Major Injection Pump Failure?

I finally got the missing wheel/tire installed on my recent purchase, serial number 08C782713 and had it hauled home. I purchased it with some knowledge it had a problem. The injector pump was mentioned. The fact is that it doesn't deliver any fuel to the injectors. The low presure pump is delivering fuel out the bleed fittings on the injection pump. I've disconnected the shut down cable and confirmed what appears to be full stroke of the shut down mechanism within the two bolt cover on the pump. Now what should I endeavor to do now short of remove and deliver the pump to the injection shop? I'm fishing for ideas from those with experience in this matter. Thanks in advance. Bill

Bill,
Does the cold start button look as if it is pushed in? Try pulling it with a pair of pliers. This can stick and give a low/no fuel problem. I have just had a friend with a minimec on a combine have the same problem.
regards
Brian

It was sticking, I freed it and it snaps freely about 5/16" or 3/8" before the starting efforts. What it's doing internally I can't say. According to way I read the IT manual it can be pushed in for cold start and should snap back after start-up. There is a caution not to run with it in the in position. Other ideas? My 1959 edition of the IT manual goes to much more injector pump internal detail than the 1965 edition of my IT manual. Are there any websites dealing with Simms pumps? that you know of. Thanks, Bill
