If you keep a close check on the engine oil it won't hurt anything to run it like that. Just be sure to keep and eye on the oil pressure gage, and if it drops any at all stop and check the oil to be sure fuel is'nt getting into the engine oil. Most times with and outward leak it won't build up enough pressure to force the fuel inwards anyways. I have one here that I by passed the supply pump because of the leaks and so far it has'nt lacked for power unless I'm bushogging with it. If you have the manual governor fuel injector pump it should have the the same oil that you use in your engine. If you have a vacuum govornor it uses the flowing fuel for lubrication. If your not sure which you have or how to tell just look on the side of the injector pump and if it's manual and uses engine oil you will see "MINNEMEC" on the pump. If it does'nt say Minnemec on it it will have a vacuum line from the top running over to the intake., and the injector pump will say "SIMMS" and not Minnemec. The Simms vacuum gov uses the bypassed fuel for lube, and you don't have to add oil. Oh yeah one more thing. If it's been replaced by a Perkins replacement pump it won't say anything, but there will be a large square headed plug in the top of the pump just forwards of the injector line outlets. It will also have and oil level gage plug 1/2" hex headed on the outter side near the shutdown shaft down below the fuel bleeder plugs, and a drain plug in the bottom 1/2" hex headed. If it has a Perkins replacement injector pump it lubes with oil no matter which governor box it has.
