I recently aquired a Fordson Major Diesel. The #1 rod bearing is spun and the engine is in a basket. I found an I.D. tag on the firewall that has engine # 1466382 but that # does not match the # I found on the clutch housing # 1306515. I assume the engine is not original but I am not sure. I would like to at least restore it to running condition. The sleeves apear to be in good condition but I dont have the specs so I can't check them with a micrometer. Where could I find a good repair manual? Would it be advisable to turn the crank and install over sized rod bearings, or should I replace the crank? Any advise would be appreciated. If I knew the value of a tractor in running condition it be helpful.

Hehe... do suppose Mr. Ford 'was on to something' with this concept of mass production and interchangeable parts?? :-)
