Hi

I am looking for information and hopefully a design for a safety frame for a Fordson Dexta tractor. I have recently bought a Dexta to use (on light duties!) on a fairly hilly block of land and I am wary of the danger to the user in the case of a roll-over. I guess what I need is to build a fairly simple frame from box section steel and bolt it on either side of the back axle. What I would like to know is are there are any standard designs I could work from for this. I am a bit cautious on just putting one together as the frame on an earlier tractor I had tended to foul the stabilizer arms when the hydraulics were raised high.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

just an inverted U will do. I 've seen both bent pipe ones and welded together from box section steel.
the one on my dexta has 'feet' on the legs that just go between the fenders and the axle. No danger of fouling if wide enough. I dont like it that the fenders are raised an inch or so this way, so in my case the thing has to go. the land is extremely flat here so I'm not in danger.
good luck, you are very wise to do this! Wish it wouldnt look so ugly on the dexta.
