Mel, Are you sure that it is a Model A... or a Model T. The model A will have a 3 speed transmission and regular gearshift. The model T will have no gearshift, but three pedals.. Hi/Lo gear, reverse, and brake... with the throttle on the steering column. There were many companies that produced tractor conversions for the Model T. The fact that yours is complete, and even runs is unusual. The fact that your friend gave it to you is even greater. Hope you enjoy your 'find'.
Value is difficult to determine. Depending on condition, completeness etc. Model T tractor conversions were in countless thousands... however many did not survive the scrap drives of WW II. Although they are not particularly rare, they do have some additional value from a standard model T.
