I'm going to wash my engine shortly using an engine degreaser and need to know what areas I need to cover with plastic. Is it ok to use a pressure washer on it? Thanks!

Lynn,

A pressure washer will lift the paint off the tractor, especially around fuel pipes, injection pump etc. Try stiff paint brush to work the degreaser into the dirt then wash off with a hose. Be careful around the electrics, air intake, exhaust, oil filler etc. I use a pressure washer on my dexta but only to dio the final wash off, and I stand well back, otherwise it will take the paint off. You shouldn't have too many problems the dexta was designed for use in wet weather regions but I would still cover the electrics just in case.

Ian.

I've got no experience with this at all, so I can't be of much help. What made you decide to do this?

I bought the tractor earlier this year and had some engine work done to cure some leaks. The engine has a lot of grime on it and the shop didn't clean it. There's a story and a picture of it on Oscar's site. Take a look at it. Eventually I'll paint it, but I'm just trying to make it run ok and clean it right now.
