I recently acquired a 1937 English made Fordson according to the serial #813412, along with the tag. On the gas tank there is an Implement dealer tag welded on that says Keegan Implement Minneapolis, MN. I got some good advice from DON(CO) about belting it up to get it started, but I was wondering if anyone knows the correct paint colors, and good part sources, books? Thanks!

I was wondering if anyone could help me as i have a fordson major and the #1152857 And on the motor it say's fordson and F2P as it has a 4.3 (low speed top gear) transmission, And the tractor was built in Dagenham England and was wondering if anyone could help me as i'm trying to restore it as it was my fathers as he past away in april this year from terminal cancer and i would like to restore it for him as it would have been his wish . So if there is anyone out there that could tell me what colour the paint is and how to connect the battery the right way as any help would be appreciated. Thankyou kindly John.

If your Fordson has the oil bath air cleaner as opposed to the air washer it should be orange. That change occured around 811180-812234, midway thru 1937 production. The Ditzler paint number for Fordson Orange is DAR60521. The change to orange paint was to please the American tractor market during the thirties. Bright colors such as Massey red, MM yellow and AC orange dominated the market. The dark blue paint was not seen as stand out in the field. (I personally think that it was a very pretty color) Keegan equipment was the English Fordson Distributor for the midwest.

Andy: If your tractor is a 1937 N... then the correct color will most likely be "harvest gold" or better known as Fordson orange. Just prior to WW II Fordson changed the color of the Model N from Blue to Orange. Earlier Model N's produced in Cork, Ireland from 1929 to 1932 were similar in color scheme to the Model F tractor... which was a light gray with red wheels. As WW II loomed in 1940... the Model N color was changed from orange to green, making them more difficult to spot from the air by German pilots.
