I have a 1962 Fordson Dexta(gas)tractor. There is a small plate mounted to the firewall between the engine and the reserve fuel tank. This plate has been painted over at sometime. Could anyone tell me what is on this plate before I take paint thinner to it. I don't want to remove any information if I can.

Greg,
I have a Fordson Power Major. I have a similar plate, on a wall between engine compartment, and battery box.
With the help of other contributors to this forum, I have established that the Power Major was manufactured in the UK., but assembled in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. The plate you have mentioned is probably your " Vehicle Identification Plate". It will probably contain info on "Year of Assembly", "Paint Colour No." etc., but may not contain your Serial No. Hope this helps.
Regards,
Les Taylor
