Identification serial number

I have a fordson super major (disk brakes) with the serial number S400707 (under 1° inject).
I leave in BELGIUM, could somebody tell me more about this serial number.

That sounds like a casting number. The serial number should be stamped either on the right front side of the engine where the block meets the head on a flat boss or vertically on the clutch housing on the left side. Serial numbers are stamped and casting numbers are cast into the metal.

Jean-Marie,
The number you have is either a number from a replacement engine or one from a "skid unit". This was a tractor supplied to someone like Roadless or County for building into another machine. Have you a number on a small plate on the battery fire wall or is it possible your tractor is a "none standard" unit?
