I'm in the process of rebuilding my engine on my Fordson Dexta. I have been reading all the Q/A's in the discussion forums. I read where burrhead told someone to hone out there sleeves after the installation. My enging is at the machine shop getting the sleeves put in and the head redone. What will I have to do to the sleeves. I thought that they would be honed from the factory. Burrhead if your reading how about some information on this, or any others that are savy to what needs to be done. Also I'm one of those retards that used ether in my tractor. I had no idea what it would or could do to it. I have used it for 17 years with no problems. Mines addicted to it. I hope after the rebuild I can get it starting by itself. I need someone to tell me what I need to get for this to happen. I don't have a fuel heater. I could put the water heater in it, but would love to have a fuel heater installed. Does anybody know where I can get one? I have the primer pump under the tank but it's not hooked up to anything. Need some info before I start putting it back together. Thanks!!

I'm no tractor expert, but as a auto tech, I'd say the machine shop would hone the cylenders out. If they don't on thier own, tell them to. You shouldn't need the ether after a fresh rebuild. Go to Oscars Fordson Pages and make sure to use the cold starting procedure.

Thanks for your information. I have my block in the machine shop as we speak. I called and ask him to check to see if it needed honed and he checked and sure enough it did. I will pick it up Fri. Thanks again. It's good to know there are people out there who will help out. Mark
