I posted back in early March about my Majors Simms injector pump stopped working. It is a newer model with a mechanical governor. The problem started when I noticed that the over fuel switch stopped working, shortly after the engine quit running. This is what I found. I removed the front cover, the two bolts below the fuel bleeding screws. I found the Mechanical slide governor bound up. I removed the pump, took off the back cover and pulled the long rod out. At first I thought that was stuck. I found that there are 4 levers on each of the four 'piston pumps'. The front two piston showed signs of rust pitting. the front was bound up. I used Blaster and kept working at it. It is fairly free moving now, not perfect but working. I reassembled and the old girl started up.

I was suprised about the rust inside. Now knowing about it I can keep at it and stop it from getting worse. I was facing a big bill and thought I would take a chance and it seemed to have worked for me. I took pictures along the way and if anybody would like I would email the procedure. I really did not get into the real inner workings of the pump. I think I knew where to draw the line as far as digging into the problem. hope this helps somebody in the future.
