What to watch when removing rear end cover?

I have the bolts all loose and am about to removed the cover to the rear end so that I can pull the axles out and replace the outers seals. Any hints/tips on doing this? I am unsure about how the hydraulic pump at the bottom is connected to the cylinder under the seat. Is the cylinder attached to the bottom of the cover? I am guessing it is, making it heavy to remove and the connection to the pump a possible problem.

By the way, anyone know the generic numbers for the seals? My local new holland dealer said he can't match the fordson part numbers to current available ones. I am planning on removing and hoping to see numbers or measure to get replacements.

Another leak I would like to fix is the 2 pt control lever. It leaks out the hole on the backside of where the lever is attached. (the rod that goes through that it pivots around). I have the cover off and it appears to be just a metal rod stuck into the hole of the housing. Shouldn't there be an O-ring or other seal there?

Wheels are off, rims blasted and painted, brakes dismantled, starting to get a little nervous to get back together again!

Thanks advance.

Bruce
