Years sgo, my dad gave me a 1952 (?) Fordson major diesel that I wore out most of my seat on when I was still on the farm. I was living in western Montana then and never thought I'd move back to Wisconsin. As things went the Simms fuel pum had some major problems that I couldn't afford to have repaired at the time so foolishly thinking it wasn't worth the effort to haul it back to Wisconsin when we returned, I gave the tractor to a friend. He spent a bunch of money getting the pump fixed and the tractor was running great the last I heard. My question is, what is an approximate value of this tractor? I would like to try to buy it back someday if my friend would part with it.

Tractor prices vary a lot depending on the mechanical and sheet metal condition. I bought a '53 FMD in Oct. of 2000. It had good sheet metal, but needed painting and had lots of oil leaks which I am still fixing. Engine ran good and did not use oil, however it did need a new head gasket and head bolts. Pump was good. I paid $1900. It also need new rear tires. Hydraulics were good. Hope this gives you an idea of their worth.
