Are there any articles online for performing a engine rebuild on a Super Major Diesel?? I have not taken possession of this tractor yet, but I am thinking that it is a late model (63-64) SM because of the Ford 5000 sticker on the hood. The person I am in negotiation with bought it from the original owner, so it is supposedly unmolested. He describes the engine as "tired" which translates to me as "need overhaul", but the price is right...or is it??? $1500.00 delivered from Colorado to north Texas.

Are parts readily available for this tractor?? It has all the features I am looking for including live PTO, DIff lock, etc., but I am skeptical by nature.....

Thanks for any input that you can provide!

I've the same tractor as you.
I'm from Italy and I've paid it 1500$ 1 month ago.
It runs ok. I've not diff lock and I've front loader.
I'm not sure about the year of building but I know it's an English one.
