Why is it that nobody seems to know the color code of the orange wheels in the Fordson Major and Dexta? I've seen that question coming up on a regular basis in this forum (and other forums too). The Fordson is so common tractor that someone must know the answer! Are there any old Ford dealers or people that have worked on the Fordson factory that would know the answer? Doesn't the Ford or New Holland have the information in their archives?I'm asking this for two reasons. First, I think that it's impossible that this information could be lost for good. Maybe I should have better things to do than this, but I think that it's really interesting that nobody seems to know the correct color code. They sure know how to make the imperial blue and that color has changed too. They changed the blue color at the same time when they ghanged the wheel color from orange to grey. Secondly, I would want to know the color code so I could paint the wheels of my Fordson. But that is not the main reason. The Fiat orange from New Holland will do fine in my tractor. It is told to be very near to the correct color. Yes, I know that the color doesn't have to be exactly the same. My Fordson will never look exactly like when it came from the factory, anyway. But I'm sure there are people out there that want to make it perfect. Or is it that most of the Fordsons are still in daily use and there hasn't been any demand for the color because people haven't restored their work tractors?
This is a dumb question and I apologise in advance that I ever sent it.
