Hi
I have troubles starting my power major when it has been running for a while. It starts fantasticaly when it hasnt been running but after it has been running for a while the starter motor won`t have a hope of starting it even with the exess fuel device. Does anyone know a practical solution?
By the way when it has been running for a while even though the starter motor won`t start it I can still kick start it down a hill so it is not engine trouble so don`t bother suggesting that.
Thanx in advance
L Harvey

It sounds like timing is to retarded try advancing it alittle at the pump drive try moveing it alittle bit no more than a sixtenth at a time and try starting it until your happy that it will start when warmed up.I had this problem when I first got my super major.Hope this helps.

I read you own a FSM as I do; mine is a 62.
Do you restored it? do you have some manuals about?
Thanks in advance
Paolo

It is not timing. I should have given more info. (sorry) What the trouble is the starter motor just cant turn the motor over fast enough.

Sounds like you either have starter brush/winding problems or clutch slip in the starter clutch.

The brush/winding problems need tackling by a auto electical shop but if it was just clutch slip you could flush the clutch with petrol.
