What is the trick to narrowing the front wheelbase width?? I cannot get the tie-rod to slid. I have used penetrating oils, tapped it most of the afternoon with a hammer, tried twisting it with a pipe wrench.....yes I did remove the bolt and nut that is used to clamp it once it is adjusted. I was able to adjust the axle width with no problems.....but the tie-rod is giving me fits....

Thanks again!

Mark

Hi. What are the effects of narrowing the fron track ? My major toes in quite a lot and i am in the process of trying to set the tracking paralell. But, the tie rods dont slide like yours didnt !! Can you give me some pointers for setting the front track ?
Many thanks.

I figured it out!! I was able to remove the grease fittings from the "bell cranks" at each wheel. Once I got the tie rod off, I was able to coax the ends loose....emory cloth and penetrating oil....and they now slid merrily along now!!

I feel good, my first accomplishment with this tractor...narrowing the wheelbase!!

WOOOHHOOOO
