Ive Recently purchased a 63 FSM and have not yet received my manuals from YT. I purchased the tractor with a Loader and from what i can tell seems to be a fair machine i paid 2100.00 for it.
was this a good price? 2nd or actually 1st there is a lever that protrudes from the front of the valve cover and points to the right side of the machine is this some kind of decompression lever or?Are these good machines?

Thanks, David

They had there faults but the 63 Super major will go down as a classic tractor. Just look how many are still left working in the world, some of the problems were corrosion round the liners, the dual clutch and lack of PTO power, but having said all that it was a good workhorse. I have one with a front wheel conversion on that has done over 20000 hrs and will still do a days work. Yes the lever is a decompressor to help in cold starting. As for the price when they were new in the UK it would have cost about #1200 regards

Does the lever decompress in the up and run in the down position?

Thanks,
David

On my ´56 Diesel Major it decompresses in the up-position.
