Were the rear wheel brakes optional on the new majors, instead of the gearbox brake?

I'm quite sure that the rear wheel brakes were standard equipment in all the agricultural tractors. The industrial models had the rear wheel brakes a little bit different than the agricultural models. If I'm correct, the gearbox brake (or transmission brake) is meant for parking only. If used when moving I'd quess it'll damage the transmission. I think that the gearbox brake was optional. At least mine doesn't have one. Mine has a brake locking handle instead that makes the brake pedals stay depressed. And one other thing, the rear wheel brakes cannot have been optional, because that would have left the tractor without any brakes else than the parking brake and it would have been illegal to drive a such tractor, I think. Even in the fifties when these tractors were made.
