Dexta with orange wheels - trans casting 957E7005 - didn't scrape to find any other numbers. This tractor has ground exhaust like the Ford 600/800 series. The tractor looks to be all there - the wiring is mostly unmolested but there is some diesel leakage around the pump. The sheetmetal is surprisingly solid considering it is sitting outside and hasn't been used for quite some time. Supposedly it has been cranked in the last 3-4 months but 1 rear is flat and separated from bead.

In this area of Eastern NC these tractors bring around $1000 in good shape according to a trusted source. IF I can get it running prior to making deal and it runs without knocking, smoking, lift works, pto engages, etc. what are the common wear items to look for in operation? Also, are parts available to keep this working for a while longer?

I have been keeping an eye on this forum and Oscar's page since I found this but figured it can't hurt to ask.

Thanks is advance for any and all help.

I don't know anything about Dextas but I do have a Major. There is a used tractor parts place near Bishopville, SC that has several Dexta parts tractors, mostly rear ends sitting around. A good source to check. Its Helm's Farm Machinery, (803)428-3460.

The rearend is where you run into parts finding troubles around here.

Everything else is readily available at Perkins Diesel for the engine and all the hydraulic system parts are available at Ford.

Around here a fairly clean Dexta that runs fair will bring around $1500 to $2500 in SE Texas.
